History

The firm was incorporated in 1995 (formerly Eastlaw). Since mid-2006 it has been reorganized as Kalaidjiev, Georgiev & Minchev Law Firm in compliance with the new Bulgarian Advocacy Act.
Founder and managing partner is Professor Doctor of Juridical Sciences Angel Kalaidjiev – renowned both as a professor in commercial law in the Faculty of Law of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and as an author of numerous publications in the field of obligation law, commercial and bank law, securities and public liability companies, as well as a long-experienced expert of the Commission of Economics and the Commission of European Integration to the National Assembly, a member of the Consultative Council to the Supreme Prosecutor dealing with the compliance of the legislation with the Constitution and the laws, and a member of working groups drafting legislation to the Financial Supervision Commission, Bulgarian National Bank and other state institutions. The contribution of Professor Doctor of Law Angel Kalaidjiev to the process of synchronization of Bulgarian legislation with the directives of EU has been acknowledged by his personal nomination as a member of the Legal Certainty Group to the European Commission dealing with clearing and settlement issues.
Our team has been formed while working on a number of substantial projects referring to privatization issues, foreign investments, banking and finance, development of Bulgarian market of securities and setting-up of the first public companies and investment intermediaries in Bulgaria. These practice areas have always been predominant in our professional involvement.
